Overview

The monster plugin is a front end to the Monster Metamod plugin. The Metamod plugin was originally developed by Botman but I have made several enhancements. An enhanced metamod DLL file for windows and SO file for linux are included with the plugin.

The monster DLL allows you to add 14 monsters from half-life into any other game. The monsters will use an AI similar to that used for bots and will attack any player in its vicinity until killed. You can adjust the health and damage produced by the attack of each monster from the monster plugin's configuration files.

The Admin Mod plugin allows you to spawn monsters in the vicinity of any player from the client console or from a "point and snark" interface. You can either supply a player name, or bind the command to a key and use your cross hair, either while playing or in free look mode to target a player.

Why slap when you can snark!

New for version 3.1:

  • File layout changed for "addons" standard compliance.
  • Map specific monster precache and monster skill files are supported.
  • You can spawn monsters at specific co-ordinates.
  • You can award score for automatically spawned monsters
  • Automatically spawned monsters can be configured to only attach one team

Features:

  • Spawn up to 14 types of monster from half-life into any other game to attack players using bot artificial intelligence.
  • Using mouse/ key bindings, you can effectively "shoot" monsters at players - no typing!
  • Automatically kills all monsters at the end of the round in counter-strike to prevent the monsters massacring a team during the freeze time if they are at the spawn point.
  • Optional "monster mania" mode spawns a random pair of monsters on players from each team at 50-70 second intervals.
  • You can give players frags for killing monsters.
  • Supported monsters: agrunt (alien humanoid they launches homing hornets), apache (a helicopter), barney (everyone's favourite security guard), bigmomma (erm, big and ugly), controller (slightly less big, just as ugly, launches fireballs), hassassin (cool ninga gimp girl), hgrunt(human grunt with pump shotgun, go go go), islave (humanoid with a large eye that fires lightning bolts), scientist (the cs hostages twin brother - will heal anyone nearby!)
