even if the plugin hasn't.
Overview
This plugin attempts to provide all-round improvements to the way your server changes map.
There are two primary functions:
- It allows you to set a number of "victory" conditions under which the map changes, based on
player and team scores as well as time.
- It provides a fair means of voting for the next map that is accessible to all
players, not just those that are familiar with the plugin.
However, even on servers where no voting is required and you do not wish to use the
advanced victory conditions, this plugin can still be used to improve the way the
map cycle is handled.
General Features
- Allows you to define multiple conditions
for when the map change takes place, based
on any combination of the following:
- Time on map
- Number of rounds played*
- Team score*
- Team lead*
- Best players score
- Best players lead
E.g. Change map after 30 minutes or when
one team gets a lead of 15 rounds.
- Synchronises all map changes to the end of
a round*
- Replaces timeleft, currentmap and nextmap chat handlers
with versions aware of map changes called by a vote or by
admin_map
- Can disable all forms of map voting including those
in standard Admin Mod and those native to the half-life
engine as well as its own voting engine.
- Prevents admins from being kicked from the server on a map
change (if plugin_antiadminkick.sma is installed).
- Warns players about non-standard maps and informs them where
maps can be downloaded.
- Audio announcement of map changes, and some chat time / high score
table with players frozen even if map is changed are the result of
a vote or administrator command.
- Enhanced listmaps function with a search feature.
- Enhanced admin_map and admin_vote_map functions.
- All configuration settings can be changed from the client console mid-game.
Voting Features
- All player commands are performed through chat rather than the console.
Players don't even have to know the console exists to nominate and vote.
- Players can nominate maps to appear in the next voting menu. A fair system
allows one player to make multiple nominations, but the additional nominations may be
dropped in favour of other players' first nomination if the menu becomes full.
- Nomination is case insensitive, and .bsp and prefixes such as cs_ or de_ are optional.
Maps can be nominated in chat using the keywords 'nominate' or 'vote', by using 'votemap' in the
console, or by simply saying the map name in chat.
- Recently played maps cannot be nominated. The administrator can control
how many recent maps are banned.
- If there are not enough nominations, maps names are read from mapcycle.txt to
fill the menu. It does not repeatedly add the same maps game after game.
- Common chat commands that players would expect to find from other plugins
are supported: timeleft, currentmap, nextmap, rockthevote.
- Admin can configure restrictions on when rockthevote can be used and how
many players must rock for a vote to occur.
- Admin can control the number of maps on the menu, the maximum number of
times the current map can be extended, the length of an extension and the
number of previously maps that can't be nominated.
- The plugin prompts players with short messages on how to use it. Admins
can control how often these occur and where on the screen. Most messages
are only displayed to players who are dead so as not to interfere with
game play.
- Voting menu will not appear in the first 10 seconds of a round when everyone
is buying weapons.*
- Audio announcements of votes, delays in voting and vote results.
